It all started a little over a year ago when a call came to the South Florida Theatre Organ Society about a WurliTzer that was losing its home. Within days a rescue team was assembled. Although there was no home yet planned for this wonderful WurliTer built in 1927 it was an offer that could not be refused, a home would have to be found, well one was in mind, but there was a lot involved before it would be officially its home. The home to be, the Amaturo theatre in the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. This is the story of our wonderful pipe organ.

 On display

The first public display of our WurliTzer Console at "Curtain Up" open house in the fall of 1998.

At this point nobody knew where the organ was going to end up.
